How It Works


All ages are invited to participate in CCPLD's Summer Reading Challenge!
Everyone benefits from keeping their minds active over the summer, even babies and adults!

Choose your challenge by registering for CCPLD's Summer Reading Challenge for your grade/age.
Register individually or as a family or group using one email address.

Use the grade the participant will be entering in the fall.

Babies - K (0 - Kindergarten)
Kids (1st-5th grade)
Teens (6th - 12th)
Adults (18+)

The program begins on May 20th!


Earn badges and tickets as you log your reading and activities starting May 20th in the CCPLD Summer Reading Challenge online at ccpld.beanstack.org or via the Beanstack App.

Gear up for an epic adventure this summer and complete the Summer Reading Challenge by reading (or have read to you) 30 BOOKS!

Earn Brag Tags as you read and complete activities by participating in our programs.

Read 30 books and receive a free book and chances to win a Squishmallow and a $50 Amazon gift card.

Your chances of winning increase every time earn more Brag Tags so keep reading and participating!

Gear up for an epic adventure this summer and complete the Summer Reading Challenge by completing 10 points!

Earn points by reading, completing activities or attending programs. Note: This year you will track your books using the ACTIVITY badge for Read a Book to track your books.

After earning 10 points you will earn a CCPLD Beach Towel (one per adult cardholder) that can be picked up in the library or via curbside. Keep logging to earn even more points!

Every badge earned will enter you into a drawing for one of three $100 gift cards to a local business of your choice!

Drawing will take place on July 18th and you need not be present to win!

Beanstack allows you to:

· Keep track of each family member's reading logs, activities, and rewards on one account.
· Log reading from home or on the go using the Beanstack App.
· See recommended events at the library and register right from the site
· Read and write book reviews of the books you read!

Getting Started

 
   
  1. Sign up on our site at https://ccpld.beanstack.org 
  2. Click on Register an Individual or Family 
  3. Everyone is encouraged to participate-- Parents/Guardians, start by registering yourself and filling out the required fields. You will be listed as the "Account Creator".
  4. Please choose Adult as the Grade Level for those 18+.
  5. You'll then be prompted to enter information for your spouse/other adults in your family and then children as Readers.
  6. Register for the Summer Reading Challenge.
    Note:
     if you have children age 5 and under, they will also be eligible to participate in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program (books read for the Summer Reading Challenge will also count for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten).
  7. You're now ready to log books, earn badges, and get chances for great prizes!
 

Logging Reading

 
  1. Click the Log Reading and Activities button in the upper left corner of your screen. Choose Minutes or Books as the logging type depending on your challenge. (Note: For adults the ACTIVITY for Read a Book will add your points!)
  2. The calendar defaults to the current day but can be changed if you wish to track specific days you/your family read.
  3. For logging Minutes: You can log reading time in minutes or hours. Ex: 3h, 20m. You can log for an individual reader or for everyone (if everyone you are logging for is using Minutes) --choose All Readers under "Select the Profile".
    For logging Books: You log the number of books read in one session by entering titles or the number of books.
  4. You have the option of entering the Title and Author and submitting Book Reviews from here as well.
  5. You will earn a virtual badges as you read.

Other Beanstack Features

  Programs: shows programs available for the Reader (based on age).
Badges: shows earned badges when you have completed achievements in a program.
Reviews: shows the peer/age-appropriate reviews that you and other library patrons have written.
The Log: shows what books (number of books/minutes, title, and author) the Reader has logged.
Switch Readers: Allows for easy switching between all Reader accounts.
- Personalize: Edit information, email notifications, or deactivate a reader’s account.

Challenge Your Friends

 

Beanstack now features a Friends and Leaderboard option. You can share your reading logs with friends and compete to see who has done the most reading!

Learn how to generate a unique friend code, add friends from within your library community, and compete with friends on your leaderboard using the Beanstack mobile app here or using the web version here

 

BEANSTACK MOBILE APP

 

The app allows you to enter book titles or scan ISBN barcodes to quickly add them to your Log, time reading sessions, and check off activities as you complete them. Search for “Beanstack Tracker” in the App Store or Google Play to download and start tracking!
